About Fóscolo & Company
Fóscolo & Company is an independent publishing imprint dedicated to works that preserve memory, expand reflection and give lasting form to ideas.
Founded in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, it was born from the meeting of research, writing, culture and editorial care. Its work is guided by a simple conviction: books are more than objects. They are forms of permanence.
Each publication is an opportunity to record trajectories, organize knowledge, preserve experiences and create bridges between authors, readers, institutions and communities of thought.
We live in a time marked by an abundance of information and the fragility of memory. Research often remains restricted to specialized circles. Archives preserve stories that rarely reach wider publics. Institutions produce knowledge that does not always circulate beyond their own walls. At the same time, individual and collective experiences risk disappearing without record, context or recognition.
Fóscolo & Company was created to work within this space.
We publish works related to history, the history of health, intellectual history, public history, essays, society, technology, education, memory, literature, poetry, chronicles and memoirs.
We value projects that combine intellectual autonomy, academic rigor, clarity, careful curation and editorial independence.
Our editorial work is a practice of care: care for authors, sources, language, readers and the stories entrusted to us.
More than publishing books, we seek to build a catalogue: independent, authorial and attentive to the long-term life of ideas.
We believe some ideas deserve to remain.
